Started working in the field in 1993 at a large ophthalmology practice for the first 10 years before becoming owner/manager of Northwest Optical in 2004 which had been locally owned since 1980.

Dotty was recognized by the Optician Association of Washington in 2015 and received their highest honor the Lloyd Sass Memorial award of “Outstanding Optician of the Year” for her exemplary contribution to licensed opticianry in the state of WA.

Dotty is very involved with her local Lions Club helping service the different needs of the community and also works with other service organizations by helping supply eyeglasses to those in need. She is nationally certified by The American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners along with being a Licensed Dispensing Optician by the State of Washington.

She is a longtime member of the Optician Association of Washington, Contact Lens Society of America, and the Better Business Bureau.

In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her yellow lab Daisy, hiking, and cooking.
